Flying to Florida

Jake found out last week he needed to fly to Florida for two weeks for work.  So, we booked tickets and started to plan our trip.

On Monday, we drove the 2.5 hours from Isabela to San Juan.  Before we went to the airport, we stopped in Old San Juan for lunch.  We ate lunch at one of our favorite restaurants, La Cueva del Mar.  They have the best fish tacos!

Then, we took a quick stroll around the Old San Juan port to soak in the sun!  We had a little run-in with someone trying to scam $6 from us.  Jake knew it was a scam right away, so he led us away from him.

After that, we got back in the car and drove to the airport.  There was a long wait at the airport.  When we went through security the TSA agent said, "Minnesota.  Oh, you're really going back to cold."  KC said, "Actually, we moved to Puerto Rico, and are traveling to Florida for work."  His surprised reaction is one that we get a lot when we tell someone we live in Puerto Rico. :)

Our flight went smoothly, except for the last half hour.  There was a little turbulence, but nothing too bad.  We landed in Florida safely, and all our bags arrived too!  (Even the empty one to carry back our goodies from the States!)

We went grocery shopping after we settled into our hotel.  KC was shocked and amazed by all the food choices, and the prices!  We've only been living in Puerto Rico for a little over a month, but we were a little overwhelmed by all the choices, and variety in food.  Some of the food prices in Puerto Rico are double what they are in Florida.   Plus, the fruit and vegetable options are endless!

The lady checking us out asked us where we were from, and we responded with, "That's an interesting question...  Minnesota, and Puerto Rico for the last month."  Not going to lie, we are thankful to be able to easily communicate with people in Florida!
