Noodle Bugs

A few months ago KC found little bugs in some of the seasonings.  She was grossed out, and we threw the seasoning rack away.  (It was left from the owner, so when we threw it away we thought we were in the clear.)  We were wrong...

When making noodles last week, KC found them again- DISGUSTING!  They were inside our plastic container where we keep the noodles.  Unfortunately, she didn't see them until we got to the bottom of the container.

Bugs cooked into the noodles

Needless to say, the noodles ended up in the trash.  The bugs were floating in the water, and in the noodles.  Jake took the container outside, and cleaned the pan out.

It took a lot to open up a new bag of noodles, and try again.  All KC could think about were the bugs- and we didn't want that extra protein!  The extras from the new bag were put in a ziploc bag.  We're hoping the ziploc bag will keep them safer than the plastic containers.  Who knows- bugs in our food is still something we're navigating through...  Tropical weather problems-ugh!

New noodles

At least the finished product was worth it.  Noodles with olive oil, parmesan cheese, and bacon.  Fingers crossed that we don't find any more bugs in our food!!

Update: Jeff told us the bugs are already in our noodles, and they hatch out from the heat and humidity.  This is even more disgusting!  Here are some pictures that came from our noodles after we set them outside which makes us believe him!
