House Hunters: Puerto Rico Edition

Thursday morning after lugging all our luggage into our car, we drove from San Juan to Isabela to look for a casa.  It’s about a two hour drive.   Along the way we hit a really big pothole, and learned it’s important to pay close attention to the road ahead!

We made it to Isabela around 2:30, and started our condo search.  The tour of condos included many places in three different complexes.  All the options had pros and cons, but we loved that they were all near the water!

Isla Bela Beach Resort was Jake’s favorite from when he had scouted living options before.  So, we went in and out of around 8 units for rent there.  Each condo had about the same layout, but was decorated differently.   We wanted a place that was move in ready, and felt the most like home.   While searching, our realtor confirmed our suspicion that the higher we went up the less chance a gecko or other insects could find their way in…  So, we decided we wanted a second or third floor option!

After being outside all day, we decided to eat at the hotel.  For two people from the frozen tundra being out in the humidity all day had tuckered us out!

Friday we continued looking for a place.  We spent much of the day with two different realtors checking out many properties.  Again, we liked the feel of Isla Bela Beach Resort the most.  So, we spent more time in two of the condos we liked the best, and decided on one!
