Step 1: Sold our House
Our plans to move to Puerto Rico started to appear to be
within reach in late July. We put our
house on the market in August, and had an offer within two days. The offer and counter offers were reviewed and
signed as we headed to a cabin weekend with friends. We battled 3G access, but were eventually
able to get online at our friend’s cabin and sign off on the paperwork. We were excited, but a little shocked! So, the packing and sorting began…
We closed on our house at the end of September.

Step 2: Packed the Trailer
Thank you to everyone who came and helped us move! We moved our belongings and packed them into a
semi-trailer for storage. It was a big job, thanks again to everyone who came
out to help!
Step 3: Moved to the Cabin
Since we didn’t know when we’d be leaving, KC’s parents let
us stay at the cabin. The weekend we
moved in it was 80 degrees. We enjoyed
one warm day on the lake, and then it got cold. We experienced the fall colors,
and the early freeze… Winter started
early, and stayed!

We spent a few days packaging up our clothes and other items to ship to Puerto Rico. The day before we left, we made a trip to the trusty USPS. We waited in a not so short line, and were a little embarrassed to ship so many big boxes. We apologized numerous times to the people behind us... Fingers crossed that everything arrives safely!
Good Luck!
